Himachal govt procures over 25,600 MT farm produce, strengthens food security network

Shimla, September (UNI) Himachal Pradesh’s State Civil Supplies Corporation has procured more than 25,600 metric tonnes of paddy and wheat directly from farmers in recent procurement cycles, while its public distribution network continues to provide subsidised essential commodities to nearly 19.42 lakh ration-card holders across the state.
The Corporation’s procurement portal currently records 4,567.50 MT of Rabi produce procured, with payments of Rs 11.81 crore released to 1,031 farmers.
The Corporation has been undertaking decentralised direct procurement of paddy since 2022-23.
