Himachal govt to assist NLU Shimla in infrastructure upgrade: CM

Shimla, September 11 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday said the state government would provide assistance to strengthen and augment infrastructure at Himachal Pradesh National Law University (NLU), Shimla, with a focus on providing quality education and better facilities to students. Reviewing various issues of the University late Thursday evening, the Chief Minister said the government was committed to further strengthening the infrastructure of the institution.
He also stressed the need for the University to generate its own resources to meet its requirements. Sukhu said the state government would assist in constructing boys' and girls' hostels at the University. He directed the authorities to install barbed wire fencing along the boundary of the girls' hostel to enhance the safety and security of students.
To address the problem of low voltage on the campus, the Chief Minister directed that a new transformer be installed. He also asked the authorities to shift the high-tension (HT) power line passing over the hostel.
