Himachal police rescue two stranded persons in Kinnaur district

Shimla, October 3 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Police, through its Emergency Response Support System (ERSS-112), facilitated the safe rescue of two persons who had lost their way near Fayul Retreat in Kalpa area of Kinnaur district, police said on Monday.
According to the police, an emergency call was received through the ERSS-112 helpline from a person reporting that his friend had lost his way in the area.
Taking prompt cognizance of the information, the emergency response system immediately communicated the details to the Police Station Reckong Peo for necessary rescue assistance.
Acting swiftly, a police team from Police Post Kalpa launched a search and rescue operation in the area.
Through timely intervention and coordinated efforts, both stranded persons were located and rescued safely.
The police said the operation highlighted the effective coordination between ERSS-112 and the local police in providing timely assistance in challenging mountainous and remote areas.
The Himachal Pradesh Police appealed to citizens and visitors to immediately contact ERSS-112 in case of any emergency, distress, getting lost or any situation requiring urgent police assistance.

Shimla, October 5 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday, directed the Health Department to allow job trainee doctors to pursue postgraduate (PG) courses, while doctors seeking permission for super-speciality courses would also be allowed to do so with enhanced bond conditions. Presiding over a review meeting of the Health Department here, Sukhu said the duration and amount of the bonds would be enhanced to ensure that doctors return to the state after completing their courses and continue to serve people.
