PM Modi inaugurates Arvind Limited's garment unit in Varanasi

Varanasi, Oct 25 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday, inaugurated Arvind Limited's garment and apparel manufacturing unit in the Mirzamurad area of Varanasi, which aims to provide employment to approximately 1,000 women.
The PM, who arrived in Varanasi to attend the grand "Wings Over Ganga" air show held in Kashi on the occasion of the 94th foundation day of the Indian Air Force, interacted with the women working at the unit and learned about their work. He understood the process of making the garments and learned about their experiences.
This unit will manufacture a variety of garments, including branded underwear, T-shirts, and lowers. This is expected to increase employment opportunities in the region and boost the textile sector.
The PM discussed women's skills, self-reliance, and employment generation possibilities. They also discussed efforts to promote Khadi and strengthen the Indian textile industry on the global stage.
This facility is considered an important step towards expanding India's capabilities in fashion and apparel manufacturing, as well as promoting women's empowerment. Through this facility, emphasis is being placed on providing employment to women, making them economically self-reliant, and increasing their participation in the development process.

Karnal police bust counterfeit currency racket, seize fake notes, printer and illegal weapon

Karnal, Oct 26 (UNI) Karnal police have uncovered a suspected counterfeit currency operation, seizing 250 fake Rs 200 notes, a printer and note-sized paper stock, a police spokesperson said on Monday.
The spokesperson said the counterfeit currency case came to light on September 26 when a Butana police team intercepted a Volkswagen Polo during vehicle checking on Sandheer Road in Nilokheri.
