Saharanpur mosque demolition: Alld HC grants interim relief to committee, seeks response from state govt

Prayagraj, Sep 11 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court on Friday sought a response from the Uttar Pradesh government and also granted interim relief to the mosque committee in connection with the demolition of the Saharanpur mosque located in the Saharanpur district collectorate.
The court, while hearing the petition, directed the petitioner Mohammed Tanveer Ahmed, the Mutawalli of the mosque committee, to file a counter-affidavit within three weeks.
Notably, the petition was filed by Tanveer Ahmed alleging that the mosque was demolished without serving any legal notice or demolition order. A request has been made to stop further action in the mosque demolition case.
