CM Yogi mourns Nana Patekar’s death, calls it an irreparable loss

Lucknow, Oct 8 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep condolences on the passing away of renowned actor, powerful theatre personality, and sensitive social worker Nana Patekar.
The Chief Minister said that the passing of Padma Shri Nana Patekar is an irreparable loss to the art world. He enriched Indian cinema with his exceptional acting and also expressed his commitment to society through social concerns.
Yogi prayed to Lord Shri Ram to grant the departed soul a place in his feet and give strength to the bereaved family and fans to bear this loss. Paying tribute to the late actor, he said, "Om Shanti."
It is noteworthy that veteran actor Nana Patekar passed away on Thursday morning at the age of 75. He suffered a cardiac arrest at his home in Goa. He was administered CPR for approximately 45 minutes, but he could not be revived.
According to Dr. Shekhar Salkar of Manipal Hospital, Nana Patekar passed away at 5:20 a.m. A medico-legal case has been filed and a postmortem will be conducted.

Allahabad HC pulls up Noida Police over illegal detention

Prayagraj, Oct8 (UINI) The Allahabad High Court has come down heavily on the Uttar Pradesh Police over the alleged illegal detention of a youth in Gautam Buddha Nagar, terming the "detention unlawful and directing his immediate release."
During the hearing, the court expressed strong displeasure with the conduct of the Noida Police and observed, “You should be ashamed.”
The court further ruled that the condition of policing in the state was “very poor” and that some officers appeared to believe they could act with impunity.
