BJP will form govt in Punjab in 2027, says Haryana CM Saini

Panchkula, Oct 11 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would form the next government in Punjab in 2027, accusing the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of failing to fulfil its electoral promises and alleging that public dissatisfaction with its governance was growing.
Speaking to reporters in Panchkula, Saini claimed that Punjab's youth, women, farmers and economically weaker sections were increasingly looking towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and wanted a change in the state's political direction.
"The BJP will form the government in Punjab in 2027," Saini asserted while responding to a question about the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Targeting the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government, the Chief Minister alleged that the party had failed to deliver on its promises of honest and transparent governance.
He claimed that people in Punjab had begun recognising what he described as the government's shortcomings and were preparing to support an alternative in the next Assembly elections.
Drawing a comparison between the two neighbouring states, Saini said Haryana's youth were bringing recognition to the state through sporting achievements and success in competitive examinations, while expressing concern over drug abuse among young people in Punjab.
He stressed the need for effective measures to tackle drug addiction and create better opportunities for Punjab's youth.
The Chief Minister said the BJP would seek public support on the issues of development, transparent administration, youth empowerment and welfare of farmers and economically weaker sections.
Saini's remarks come amid the BJP's intensified political outreach in Punjab ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. The Haryana Chief Minister has repeatedly criticised the AAP government over governance, employment and drug abuse while projecting the BJP as an alternative.
