Farooq's soul lives in Pakistan, his body in India': Anil Vij's scathing attack on Abdullah, Congress

Ambala, Oct 25 (UNI) Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij, on Saturday, launched a scathing attack on National Conference patriarch Farooq Abdullah, declaring that "his body lives in India, but his soul lives in Pakistan,"
Responding to Abdullah's recent remarks that Kashmiris have only "survived" because Pakistan keeps raising the issue on international platforms, Vij said the veteran leader's "character is already exposed before the people of the country; he loves Pakistan more than India."
"Farooq Abdullah's body lives in India, but his soul lives in Pakistan," Vij said in a no-holds-barred interaction with the media here.
Asserting that Kashmir is an inseparable part of India, he credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with abrogating Article 370, which he said the Congress had imposed. "Today, Kashmir is an integral part of India, just like Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh," he declared.
Issuing a stern warning, Vij added that those who continue to harbour separatist sentiments, as allegedly seen in slogans and posters at Jamia Millia Islamia, would have to be "treated" accordingly.
He turned his fire on the Congress dismissing its November 1 Delhi rally against alleged "vote theft" as a "mourning ceremony" for 99 electoral defeats under Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's leadership.
"When there is a death in someone's home, they observe mourning for 13 days. Under Rahul Gandhi's leadership, the Congress has lost 99 elections, so this is their way of mourning," he said.
The Minister dismissed the rally as political theatre designed to mask electoral impotence and spread anarchy. "This is merely a way of making noise," he said, arguing that the Congress's recent protests revealed an intent to "spread anarchy" rather than pursue democratic change.
"Every party has the right to form its own government, and in a democracy, the way to do so is by winning through voting. Go among the people, point out the shortcomings of our government, and if people then vote for you, form your own government. Governments have changed before too. During Congress rule, people formed a BJP government. Was there vote theft then as well?," Vij asked.
He reserved his sharpest criticism for the Congress's choice of November 1, noting that it coincides with the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh violence in the capital. "The massacre of Sikhs took place in Delhi on November 1, in which several Congress leaders themselves were involved," he said. "Before that, PM Indira Gandhi was assassinated on October 31. Holding such a large rally in Delhi on November 1 is something they should reconsider."
Vij also raised economic concerns, pointing out that the rally falls during the festive season when traders stand to suffer losses running into thousands of crores. "They can hold the rally ten days later," he suggested.
