BJP always recognises and honours dedication to organisation: Sat Sharma

Srinagar, Oct 22 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma on Thursday said the party recognises and honours the dedication of its leaders and workers, asserting that organisational commitment and ideological discipline remain central to the BJP’s functioning.
Sharma was speaking at a felicitation ceremony organised to honour former BJP J&K General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul for his contribution to strengthening the party across Jammu and Kashmir.
Drawing a contrast with parties he described as driven by individuals and families, Sharma said the BJP derives its strength from grassroots workers who work to advance the organisation’s ideology.
“Unlike parties driven by individuals or families, the BJP draws its real strength from dedicated workers who serve the organisation with honesty and commitment,” Sharma said, according to a party statement.
He added that dedication, discipline and sincerity were valued above personal ambitions and positions, asserting that every worker was entitled to recognition and respect for their contribution.
The felicitation of Koul, a former key organisational functionary, was presented by the party as recognition of his role in expanding and consolidating the BJP’s organisational network across the union Territory.
Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, BJP general secretaries Mohammad Anwar Khan and Gopal Mahajan, J&K Waqf Board chairperson Darakhshan Andrabi, MLA R.S. Pathania and several senior party leaders attended the ceremony.
LoP Sunil Sharma said that the felicitation reflected the BJP's organisational culture of acknowledging dedication, loyalty and selfless service.
He said that Ashok Koul had worked tirelessly under challenging circumstances, guided countless workers and contributed significantly towards strengthening the party's organisational structure.
Expressing gratitude for the honour, Ashok Koul thanked the party leadership, senior functionaries and workers for their affection, cooperation and support throughout his organisational journey.
He reiterated his commitment to the party's ideology and urged workers to maintain unity, discipline and dedication while continuing to serve society and strengthen the organisation.
