BJP is weakening democracy through vote theft and rigging, alleges Akhikesh Yadav

Saifai( Etawah), Oct 23 (UNI) Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of alleged rigging, fraud, and preventing Samajwadi Party voters from voting.

Mr Yadav cast his vote in Saifai on Friday in the Agra-Aligarh Graduate Constituency Legislative Council elections.
Speaking to the media after casting his vote, he said that BJP members are disappointed and frustrated. He said that the Teachers' and Graduates' Legislative Council elections are limited electorates, with only teachers and graduates voting. Despite this, the BJP, fearing defeat, is resorting to fraud and fraudulent voting, he claimed.
He alleged that the BJP deployed its own people and corrupt officials to prevent Samajwadi Party workers and voters from casting their votes in the Teachers' and Graduates' Legislative Council elections.
Akhilesh Yadav said that the BJP may attempt similar fraud in the assembly elections, but the public is against the BJP, and every vote will be cast against the BJP in the upcoming assembly elections.
The SP president claimed that he has received reports from across the state that BJP members attempted to rig elections at several locations and prevent Samajwadi Party voters from voting. He also accused the administration of being inactive.
Akhilesh Yadav questioned the role of the Election Commission, saying that the Commission remained blind despite seeing everything.
He sarcastically said that the BJP should open a university dedicated to "vote theft" and offer at least a three-year course for its workers.
Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP of weakening democracy and the Constitution. He said that vote theft and election rigging are attempts to destroy democracy. The Samajwadi Party is fighting to save the Constitution and democracy and working to strengthen the democratic system.
He said that the Samajwadi Party has been raising the issue of vote theft and alleged irregularities in the voter list since 2022. He alleged that the BJP and the Election Commission were responsible for the irregularities in the voter list.
Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP government of not doing enough for teachers and youth. He said that despite the BJP government having been in power for ten years, it is still resorting to alleged rigging of ballots and hooliganism to win elections.
He also attacked the BJP government on issues related to inflation, unemployment, healthcare, policing, corruption, and farmers. Akhilesh Yadav alleged that corruption is rampant in the state and that it has become difficult to get work done in government departments without bribery.
He questioned the state of healthcare, saying that hospitals are in poor condition and ambulance services are affected. He also accused the police system of corruption.
The SP president also raised the issue of farmers not getting fertilizers. He said that many chemicals used for fertilizers and DAP come from China and other countries.
Akhilesh Yadav claimed that ''the central government's foreign policy has failed and the government is conducting trade according to foreign conditions''. He questioned how farmers will receive adequate DAP and fertilizers when trade is conducted according to other countries' terms.
Akhilesh Yadav also questioned the quality of the expressway, alleging potholes. He stated that the BJP government failed to fulfill the promises it made to the public, and now that the public is asking questions, the BJP is panicking.
He expressed the hope that the Samajwadi Party and the All India Alliance will jointly defeat the BJP.
He alleged that the BJP has harassed the public by increasing inflation, failing to provide adequate employment to the youth, weakening health services, and leaving farmers struggling with fertilizer shortages. He claimed that the public will wipe out the BJP in the 2027 assembly elections.
