Owaisi issues October 2 ultimatum for non-BJP alliance in UP

Kanpur, Sep 21 (UNI) Blaming the Samajwadi Party for creating hurdles in forging an alliance among non-BJP parties for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has set October 2 as the deadline for forming an alliance to counter the BJP.
“AIMIM is ready to form an alliance with any party. Talks are underway with non-BJP parties and they are waiting until October 2 for an alliance. AIMIM will contest the state elections with whoever allies with us,” AIMIM National President Owaisi said here on Sunday night.
Addressing a public rally at the Babupurwa Idgah grounds, Owaisi said Muslims in the state are not being developed. Without naming Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, he criticised both,referring to them as “Baba” and “Brother”. He said the demolition of the mosque in Saharanpur and a graveyard in Barra is an act of anarchy. Referring to the Muzaffarnagar riots, he questioned the previous SP government.
