Jaipur, May 29 (UNI) Former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ashok Gahlot on Thursday appealed to the state government to implement the Gig Workers Welfare Act, which was enacted during the Congress government's tenure in 2023, to provide social security and a dignified life to gig workers.
In a social media post, Gahlot said, "We are proud and happy that during our Congress government in Rajasthan in 2023, the country’s first Gig Workers Welfare Act was enacted, which drew worldwide attention. This law provides for a welfare fund, insurance and working hours for gig workers."
