Devotees throng Subhash Mandir on the foundation day of the Azad Hind Government

Varanasi, Oct 21 (UNI) On Wednesday, on the foundation day of the Azad Hind Government, a crowd of devotees gathered at the Subhash Mandir in Lamhi, Varanasi, to pay obeisance.
People paid floral tributes to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and remembered the sacrifices of the Azad Hind Fauj.
On this occasion, the Vishal Bharat Sansthan organised a national seminar on the role of the Azad Hind Government and its contribution to India's independence.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose established the Azad Hind Government in Singapore on October 21, 1943. Its objective was to liberate India from British rule. The Azad Hind Fauj launched a military campaign against the British during World War II.
Chief guest of the seminar, Subhashite thinker and litterateur Dr. Kavindra Narayan Srivastava, said that attempts to limit the history of independence to one family had created many problems. He urged the youth to remember Netaji's contributions and the sacrifices of the Azad Hind Fauj. He called for spreading the message to every household.
Dr. Rajiv Shriguruji, National President of Vishal Bharat Sansthan, called for identifying villages associated with Azad Hind Fauj soldiers and establishing memorial gates and Subhash Chowks there. He said this would help in bringing the history of the freedom struggle to the new generation.
Students Zeenat Rehman, Srishti Tyagi, Roksar Parveen, and Arshita Bharti presented research papers at the seminar. Mahant Prabhu Ramdas Ji Maharaj presided over the program.
