AP: Minister asks officials to assess crop loss, damage to roads due to rains

Vijayawada, Sep 25 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Agriculture K Atchannaidu on Friday directed the officials to assess the crop loss caused by the incessant rains under the influence of deep depression and advise farmers on preventing further damage.
The Minister held a teleconference with senior officials—including Agriculture Department Special Chief Secretary B Rajasekhar, Agriculture Commissioner Jilani, Horticulture Commissioner Srinivasulu, the Director of Animal Husbandry, and the Fisheries Commissioner—to discuss the impact of heavy rains and the immediate measures required.
The Minister directed the officials to assess loss to the crops, roads and other infrastructure and to undertake emergency restoration works on a war footing. He emphasized that the departments concerned and the district administration must work in coordination to ensure that farmers and the general public in the affected areas do not face any hardships.
