Telangana CM Revanth urges departments, industries to use treated water for non-drinking purposes

Hyderabad, Nov 1 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has appealed to government departments, industries, construction agencies and commercial establishments to make extensive use of treated wastewater for landscaping, construction and industrial purposes to conserve potable drinking water amid the El Niño threat.
In a message marking the 37th Foundation Day of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), the Chief Minister called upon people and all stakeholders to make water conservation a collective responsibility.
He appreciated the Board for providing drinking water and maintaining sewerage services in Hyderabad over the past 37 years, contributing significantly to the city's development and public health.
In view of Hyderabad's rapid expansion and the prevailing El Niño conditions, Revanth Reddy stressed the need for proactive measures to ensure water security and sustainable management of water resources.
He said the launch of the 'Dial Green Tanker – Green Tanker Operations' initiative was a timely step towards promoting the use of treated wastewater and reducing the consumption of potable water for non-domestic purposes.
