Khairatabad Congress leader protests against CEC over SIR, voter roll issues

Hyderabad, Sep 24 (UNI) Khairatabad District Congress Committee president Motha Rohit Mudiraj on Thursday led a protest from the Ambedkar Statue at Tank Bund to the Election Commission office, raising concerns over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), changes to Form-6, and additions and deletions in electoral rolls.
Congress workers burnt an effigy of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and demanded his arrest, besides seeking a transparent inquiry into the issues raised over electoral-roll data.
Rohit demanded that strict legal and criminal action be taken against those responsible if any violations of law or prescribed procedures are established.
