AP: SCoR detects 46,156 ticketing violations, collects Rs 3.56 crore fine

Visakhapatnam, Sept 24 (UNI) South Coast Railway (SCoR) detected 46,156 cases and collected Rs 3.56 crore in penalties during a 15-day special ticket-checking drive conducted across the zone from September 7 to 21.
The fortnight-long drive was aimed at curbing ticketless and irregular travel and ensuring compliance with railway regulations, including provisions under the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act-2026, the railways said in a release here on Thursday.
Round-the-clock ticket checking was carried out at major railway stations, on running trains and at key passenger interchange points. Special focus was placed on ticketless travel, irregular travel, misuse of concessions, carriage of unbooked luggage and other ticketing violations.
