Centre’s drought teams to fan out across Karnataka from Oct 3

New Delhi, Sept 28 (UNI) The Centre will fan out three teams across drought-hit Karnataka from October 3 to undertake an on-the-spot assessment of crop damage and ground conditions, union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Monday.
The teams will conduct the assessment from October 3 to 6 as the Centre begins the process of evaluating the severity of the drought and the assistance required by the state.
The move comes after Karnataka declared 177 of its 240 taluks drought-affected, while ground-truthing is underway in another 50 taluks.
