Telangana: ACB catches Keesara SI accepting Rs 5 lakh bribe

Hyderabad, Sep 17 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday night caught Keesara Sub-Inspector of Police Dyapa Gnanender Reddy red-handed while allegedly accepting a Rs 5 lakh bribe at the Keesara Police Station under Malkajgiri Commissionerate.
According to the ACB statement on Thursday, the SI demanded and accepted the bribe on the instructions of Keesara Inspector and SHO Arkapally Anjaneyulu for granting station bail and allegedly not harassing the complainant and his friend in a case registered at the police station.
The tainted amount was recovered from the possession of the SI at his instance. The ACB alleged that both officials acted improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.
Both accused officials were being produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Nampally, for judicial remand. The complainant's identity has been withheld for security reasons.
