T'gana: Man arrested for assaulting TGSRTC staff, remanded to judicial custody

Hyderabad, Oct 6 (UNI) Tolichowki police arrested a man for allegedly assaulting a TGSRTC bus driver and conductor while they were on duty and sent him to judicial custody today.
According to TGSRTC officials, the accused, identified as Zeeshan, allegedly stopped a Barkatpura Depot bus (TG 08 Z 0135) near Galaxy bus stop using his car. He reportedly abused and assaulted driver, Md Azam and conductor P Lakshmaiah. The driver suffered a serious head injury in the incident. The accused also allegedly damaged the bus’ Ticket Issuing Machine (TIM) and behaved inappropriately with female passengers.
Based on Azam’s complaint, Tolichowki police registered a criminal complaint Cr. No. 465/2026 under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. Police produced the accused before a court today, which sent him to judicial custody.
TGSRTC Managing Director Y. Nagi Reddy condemned the incident and warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone assaulting employees or obstructing them while performing their duties. He added that damage to RTC property would also not be tolerated.
