Palani to England, Switzerland and Gangtok; LMRK charts seven spiritual missions

Thrissur (Kerala), Oct 29 (UNI) Lion Mayura Royal Kingdom (LMRK), a spiritual organisation founded at Palani in Tamil Nadu in 2017, has outlined seven missions undertaken between 2018 and 2026, linking traditional rituals and sacred ceremonies to its vision of reviving India’s ancient cultural connections and strengthening the country’s global standing.
The missions, conducted under the guidance of founder Rejith Kumar, included the construction and consecration of sacred objects, elaborate yagnas and ancestral offerings in India and abroad.
Drawing on the five elements of nature — earth, water, fire, air and space — the organisation has sought to establish spiritual connections between India’s historical heritage and contemporary developments in timekeeping, finance, archaeology, Tamil culture, space exploration and international relations.
LMRK has interpreted developments such as the proposal to promote Mahakal Standard Time with Ujjain as a reference point, the international expansion of India’s digital payment systems, archaeological discoveries and the Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission as symbolically aligned with its spiritual objectives. These are the organisation’s interpretations; no independent evidence has established a causal connection between its rituals and the developments cited.
The first mission in 2018 involved constructing the Mayura Simhasana, performing its sacred worship at Palani and subsequently installing it in England. The initiative sought to revive the significance of Ujjain as an ancient Indian centre of astronomy and timekeeping, Rejith Kumar said.
LMRK linked this objective to the proposal for Mahakal Standard Time (MST), which envisages promoting Ujjain as a global time reference in place of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). In April 2026, union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan called for discussions on the proposal, citing Ujjain’s historical importance in astronomy and time calculation.
The second mission, undertaken in Switzerland in 2020, involved creating a Navapashana idol of Lord Karthikeya, performing the prescribed worship at Palani and subsequently installing the idol in Switzerland.
The organisation said the mission was intended to strengthen the Indian rupee’s value and international influence, viewing Switzerland’s position as a major global financial centre as significant to its objectives. It cited the growing international use of the rupee and the overseas expansion of India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) as developments consistent with its vision. The internationalisation of the rupee and UPI’s expansion, however, depend on financial policies, technological infrastructure and bilateral arrangements.
The third initiative, the Skanda Mahabharata Yagam, was conducted at Palani on August 15, 2021, and was associated with the earth element. It aimed to support India’s emergence as a *Vishwaguru*, or global spiritual guide, and facilitate the discovery of treasures believed by the organisation to lie beneath the earth and sea.
LMRK said valuable resources and ancient remains subsequently came to light at various locations along India’s coastline and underwater, interpreting these discoveries in the context of the yagam. Its account does not independently establish a link between the ritual and the discoveries.
Before the yagam, Rejith Kumar collected holy water from four principal mutts associated with Adi Shankaracharya, following a tradition attributed to the philosopher-saint. He also performed Muruga pooja at Ujjain and offered "Tarpanam", a traditional ancestral offering, to King Vikramaditya and the legendary nine scholars known as his Navaratnas.
The fourth mission, the Chenthamizh Murugan Veera Chozha Peruvelvi, was conducted in Chennai on December 4, 2022, and was associated with the water element. It aimed to bring the history and legacy of the Chola dynasty to wider public attention and strengthen international recognition of Tamil culture.
As part of the preparations, Rejith Kumar collected soil from important routes and regions associated with the Chola rulers and their kingdom. He also travelled through regions including the Maldives and Thailand and performed Tarpanam for the ancient Chola rulers on an Amavasya, or new-moon day, at a sacred water source associated with their history.
LMRK viewed the mission as part of efforts to generate wider international interest in Tamil culture and the Chola dynasty, whose maritime connections and historical legacy remain important elements of Tamil heritage.
The fifth initiative, the Indo-East Asia Muruga Velvi, also known as the Yin-Yang Yagam, was held at Palani on August 15, 2023, and was associated with the air element. It sought to revive what the organisation describes as ancient spiritual connections between India and China by balancing the complementary Yin and Yang energies at Palani, regarded by LMRK as an important spiritual centre of Lord Muruga.
Before the yagam, Tarpanam was offered to various figures, including leaders such as the Prime Minister of Singapore, as part of the organisation’s effort to invite and harmonise these energies in India.
LMRK subsequently drew a symbolic connection between the ritual’s themes and Chandrayaan-3, India’s lunar mission that achieved a successful landing near the Moon’s south pole on August 23, 2023. Prime Minister Narendra Modi named the landing site Shiv Shakti Point, invoking the complementary principles of Shiva and Shakti.
The organisation interpreted the name and the lunar achievement as symbolically consistent with its mission. The landing itself, however, was accomplished through India’s scientific research, engineering and space technology.
The sixth mission, the Palani-Ujjain Kartikeya Maha Yagam, was conducted at Ujjain on March 15, 2024, and was associated with the space element. It aimed to strengthen the Indian Armed Forces and enhance India’s voice and standing in international affairs.
According to LMRK, Tarpanam was offered to B.R. Ambedkar and Bharata Chakravarti before the space-element yagam was completed. The organisation also referred to the use of the name Shiv Shakti in connection with subsequent cosmic studies by the European Space Agency, viewing it within the broader spiritual significance it attaches to the term.
The seventh mission, the Agni Maha Yagam, was conducted at Gangtok in Sikkim on May 1, 2026, to mark LMRK’s ninth anniversary. Associated with the fire element, the ritual was intended to counter what the organisation describes as the influence of the ‘Deep State’ and help India emerge as a major global power.
LMRK said India’s expanding international role and its position in the emerging world order were consistent with the objectives of the yagam. These claims represent the organisation’s interpretation of contemporary geopolitical developments.
Taken together, the seven missions form LMRK’s attempt to connect Palani, Ujjain and other locations in India with destinations abroad through traditions associated with Lord Muruga, ancestral offerings, the five elements of nature and the country’s ancient cultural heritage.
Founded at Palani on May 1, 2017, the organisation views the initiatives as part of a continuing effort to strengthen India’s spiritual identity, revive historical and cultural connections across regions and countries, and advance its vision of India emerging as a Vishwaguru.
The missions combine traditional religious practices with the organisation’s interpretations of developments in science, finance, culture and international relations.
