Telangana: Resume interrupted education with confidence: Seethakka urges women

Hyderabad, Sep 29 (UNI) Telangana Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Seethakka has urged women who discontinued their education for various reasons to make use of the government’s opportunity to resume their studies and build better prospects for themselves.
In a video statement on Tuesday, the Minister said the government was committed to empowering women not only economically but also through education and skill development.
Recalling her own experience, Seethakka said she may not have reached her present position had she not resumed her education after it was interrupted due to various circumstances.
She said women can pursue Class 10 and Intermediate education through the Telangana Open School Society (TOSS) without having to attend school every day. The facility enables women to continue their education from home while managing household and family responsibilities.
Seethakka particularly appealed to women members of self-help groups to take advantage of the opportunity.
She said lakhs of women had acquired basic literacy skills under the ‘Ammaku Aksharamala’ programme, with many successfully passing the ULLAS examination.
The government is now taking steps to enable women who have acquired literacy to appear for the Class 10 examinations, she said.
Education would open up more economic opportunities and enhance women’s self-confidence, the Minister added, urging them to come forward and pursue their studies.
She said women could apply through nearby MeeSeva centres, TOSS centres or online. Seethakka also asked officials and public representatives to encourage at least 100 women from every mandal to appear for the Class 10 examinations this year.
“Age is no barrier to education. Whether one is 14 or 40, one can continue their studies. The government stands by every woman who wishes to learn,” Seethakka said.
She urged women to take the first step towards completing their interrupted education, stating that learning would open the door to new opportunities and greater self-confidence.
