Telangana: Kavitha urges CEO to extend Graduate MLC voter registration deadline

Hyderabad, Oct 2 (UNI) Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) President Kalvakuntla Kavitha met Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sudarshan Reddy at BRK Bhavan on Monday and urged the Election Commission to extend the voter registration deadline for the Graduate MLC elections until nominations close.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Kavitha said voter registration for the Graduate MLC elections, currently scheduled to close on November 6, should be extended given the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, expected to continue until November 21. She said the CEO responded positively to their request.
She observed that the Graduate MLC elections had created an election atmosphere across nearly two-thirds of the State, covering the six erstwhile undivided districts of Telangana. Graduates, she said, were voters who exercised their franchise after carefully assessing the performance of the government and opposition parties.
