59 films to be screened on second day of 18th IDSFFK

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 25 (UNI): Competition screenings will begin on the second day of the 18th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK) on September 26, with a total of 59 films scheduled for screening across various sections.
The day's line-up includes films in the Short Documentary, Short Fiction and Long Documentary competition sections, besides International Fiction and Non-Fiction, Vanguard Motion: International Animation, Focus, Malayalam, Best of Annecy and African Shorts sections.
The Short Documentary competition features Anhad: A Way of Looking directed by Syed Ahmad Rufai, Viramam by Malavika V N, Friends of Jilipibala, Boulevard – The Royal Route by Rahul Sood and Auto Queens by Shreyanti.
The Short Fiction competition includes Everything Is Connected, Uncessow, Mayan, Aata Tu Motha Jhalas and Maram Marankothi.
The Long Documentary competition features The Recountor of the Dark – Andhar Potua directed by Avijit Banerjee and Close Up Close: The Making of Political Ubu by Kamal K M.
Three dialogue-free animation films will be screened in the Vanguard Motion: International Animation section. The International Fiction section includes His Wife, directed by Liat Kaplan, while the International Non-Fiction section features Rio Remains Beautiful, Luminous Void and Nostalgia for the Future.
The Focus Short Fiction section will screen Ghar Ki Lakshmi, while the Focus Short Documentary section includes Holy Humans, Friends of the Fireflies, Greater One-Horned Rhino, Chronicles of the Walls and Orange.
The Focus Long Documentary section features Echoes on the Walls, Tungabhadra and Dreams of a Forgotten Past. The Malayalam Long Documentary section includes Mudiyettu, directed by Venugopal R.
The Malayalam sections feature Appam and Apologies, Like the Birds and Heart Attack in Short Fiction, and Ummachiyude Alamara, Aavasam and Kedakanal in Short Documentary.
The Moving Craft section includes Nina Sabnani's Thank You Many Times, besides Makers of Tales, Shubh Vivah and Home. The African Shorts section features Crossings, Happy Meal and The River.
The Music Video section will feature Mihira: An Ode to the Breath of Life, directed by Shruthi Sharanyam. The Homage section presents Avani Rai's Raghu Rai: An Unframed Portrait.
The Best of Annecy section includes God Is Shy, Please, Paper Trail, The Ladybug Room and My Belly Aching Skin. The Sounds capes section features We, the Orchestra, while the Campus Film section includes Birds Nest in Storm and The Shadow of Time.
The Jury Film section will feature Kapila, directed by Sanju Surendran.
The screenings form part of the diverse programme scheduled for the second day of the festival, with competition films taking centre stage from September 26.
