Deve Gowda wishes PM Modi on 76th birthday; Karnataka leaders extend greetings

Bengaluru, Sep 17 (UNI) Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda on Thursday extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, wishing him a long and healthy life and hoping that he would continue to lead the country with dedication and wisdom.
In a letter dated September 16, Gowda said, “May you continue to lead our nation with dedication and wisdom. May you help our nation realise its enormous potential and further strengthen its exalted place in the world.”
Gowda also wished Modi “a long and healthy life” and conveyed his “warmest regards” to the Prime Minister.
The birthday greetings came from across the political spectrum, including Opposition leaders. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, “Happy birthday to PM Narendra Modi ji. Wishing you good health and a long life.”
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also extended his greetings to Modi, while several leaders across parties conveyed their wishes on the occasion.
From Karnataka, BJP leaders and other political figures also joined the birthday greetings, with messages highlighting Modi's public service and leadership.
Nationally, BJP leaders including union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised Modi's contribution to public service and governance in their birthday messages.
Modi, born on September 17, 1950, turned 76 on Thursday.

Kozhikode: Reporter TV MD Anto Augustine remanded to 14 days' in liquor storage case

Kozhikode, Sep 17 (UNI) The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Sultan Batheri on Thursday remanded Reporter TV Managing Director Anto Augustine to 14 days' of judicial custody following his arrest by the Kerala Excise Department in connection with a major illegal liquor storage case.
Anto Augustine was sent to 14 days of judicial custody after the Excise Special Investigation Team (SIT) presented him before the court.
