AP CM Naidu to distribute House -site title deeds to 28,445 families in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam, Sept 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will distribute house-site title deeds to 28,445 families in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, providing them full ownership rights over homes for which thousands of families have been waiting for nearly four decades.
The land being regularised covers 399 acres, comprising 19,33,853 square yards, with an estimated total value of Rs 8,874 crore.
This is the first time such a large-scale regularisation and distribution of house-site title deeds is being undertaken in Visakhapatnam, according to the government.
Thousands of families have been living in houses they constructed themselves without full legal rights over the land.
The absence of title deeds prevented them from fully enjoying, transferring or securing their properties for the future.
The regularisation initiative is expected to provide the beneficiaries with property ownership, financial and social security and an asset that can be passed on to their children.
After assuming office in 2024, the government focused on the long-pending issue, with public representatives also bringing it to the Chief Minister's attention during district reviews.
Naidu subsequently directed officials to regularise government land on which houses had been constructed, wherever there were no objections, and grant ownership rights to the occupants.
The ongoing regularisation process will benefit families across several areas from Gajuwaka to Bheemili.
Visakhapatnam Rural accounts for the highest number of beneficiaries at 9,261, followed by Gajuwaka with 4,353, Mulagada with 4,213, Gopalapatnam with 3,253, Pendurthi with 2,722, Pedagantyada with 1,910, Maharanipeta with 1,235, Seethammadhara with 668, Bheemili with 464, Anandapuram with 349 and Padmanabham with 17.
The government said the initiative was part of its broader efforts to develop Visakhapatnam into a world-class city while ensuring that ordinary families also benefit from the city's growth.
In a social media post, Naidu said the programme was not merely a distribution of title deeds but a historic occasion that would provide full ownership rights over their homes to around 28,000 families.
He said the happiness of families who had waited for decades for ownership rights over the homes in which they live would be the government's "true satisfaction".
As per the schedule, Naidu will arrive in the city at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday and interact with sanitation workers and local fishermen at RK Beach as part of the Swachh Andhra–Swarna Andhra programme.
He will subsequently participate in a public meeting at the AU Engineering College Grounds, where he will distribute regularisation title deeds to the beneficiaries.
