CPM opposes PAC probe into collapses of NH-66, alleges VD Satheesan

Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 6 (UNI) Opposition leader in Kerala Assembly VD Satheesan alleged that the CPM-led Left Government is opposing a probe by the Public Accountants Committee (PAC) into the collapses of NH-66 in the State.
The Opposition leader also questioned the silence of the CPM Government towards the demand of a PAC probe into the collapse of the under construction NH-66 at 3 places including Kooriyad, Thalapara and Kanhangad in Malappuram and Kasargod districts.
He also asked why the Kerala Government is opposing a PAC probe led by AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal into the NH collapses.
With over 150 cracks and major damages, construction defects are undeniable, he said on Friday.
"Evidence of massive corruption looms. PAC has full authority to investigate NH issues. What are they afraid of ?," he added.
