Siddaramaiah presses Rahul Gandhi over caste survey implementation

Bengaluru, Sept 12 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has urged party leader Rahul Gandhi to direct the Karnataka government to implement the caste survey report at the earliest, making the issue a key point of his meeting with the Congress leader in New Delhi.
Siddaramaiah is understood to have told Rahul Gandhi that the caste survey was conducted following the party leadership's directions and that the report has now been received by the state government. He reportedly sought an intervention from the Congress leadership to ensure its early implementation, maintaining that the move was essential to secure social justice.
The meeting assumes significance as the caste survey and its implementation remain politically sensitive issues in Karnataka, with Siddaramaiah strongly advocating the cause of backward classes and social justice.
