Congress, BRS covering up each other’s corruption, alleges Ramchander Rao

Hyderabad, Oct 2 (UNI) Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Friday alleged that the ruling Congress and opposition BRS were engaged in a “quid pro quo” arrangement, trading allegations of corruption against each other without taking action on the issues raised.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP state office, Namaplly here, he said the recent exchange of allegations between Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and BRS leaders over the assets and alleged corruption of their respective leaders had benefited neither the people nor the State.
He recalled Congress’s earlier promise to act against alleged BRS corruption within 100 days of coming to power and questioned the absence of arrests so far.
Rao also criticised the government over the handling of GO 190, saying around 4,000 teachers were eligible for transfers or deputations but only 100–200 had reportedly been accommodated.
He condemned the detention of teachers protesting at Gandhi Bhavan and demanded that their legitimate grievances be addressed.
On farmers’ issues, Rao alleged that crops in several areas, particularly Nalgonda, were drying up due to inadequate water and power supply.
He demanded immediate release of Rythu Bharosa assistance before the Rabi season and compensation for crop losses.
Rao criticised the State government over non-payment of premiums under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, noting that farmers had been left without adequate crop insurance.
He also alleged that farmers and BJP leaders were detained while attempting to visit the Jurala project and demanded measures to ensure irrigation water for downstream crops.
Rao said the BJP would continue to raise public issues and invited intellectuals and politically conscious youth to join the party.
Meanwhile, actor and BJP State Cinema Cell co-convener Vaibhav Surya, TV artist and lawyer Swarnalatha, TV actor Lakshman and senior cameramen Suresh and Mahesh joined the BJP. Ramchander Rao welcomed them by presenting party scarves.
