Sridhar Babu slams BRS for double standards, questions secret pact with BJP

Hyderabad, May 25 (UNI) Telangana Minister for IT and Industries, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, launched a scathing attack on the BRS on Saturday, questioning its sudden support for the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which it had earlier branded as corrupt.

In a statement here, he demanded clarity from BRS leaders on whether they were now endorsing baseless and politically motivated cases previously filed by the same agency, including one against K Kavitha.

The Minister accused the BRS of striking a covert pact with the BJP, citing their support for ED actions against Congress leaders aimed at weakening the party cadre.

He urged BRS leaders to come clean on their alleged alliance and emphasised that Congress, under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, would not bow to unconstitutional pressure.

Sridhar Babu also criticised the BRS for lacking an understanding of democratic norms and federal responsibilities. He defended CM Revanth Reddy’s meetings in New Delhi, stating that proactive engagement with the Centre had advanced major infrastructure projects such as the Secunderabad-Shamirpet elevated corridor, the Kazipet Coach Factory, and the NIMZ at Zaheerabad.

The Minister hit out at the BRS for blaming Congress while ignoring the financial burden left behind during their decade-long rule. He noted that the Congress government is working to stabilise state finances and is fulfilling its promises, including farmer loan waivers, Rs 500 LPG cylinders, free bus travel for women, 200 units of free electricity, and housing schemes.

Rejecting BRS attacks on CM Revanth Reddy, Sridhar Babu said leadership should not be judged by personal bias but by public mandate. He reminded the BRS that they were voted out due to public dissatisfaction and urged them to act as a responsible opposition instead of clinging to past power.
