AP: Visakhapatnam Port Authority facilitates study tour for IAS trainee officers

Visakhapatnam, May 24 (UNI) As part of the 127ᵗʰ Induction Training Programme for officers promoted from State Civil Services to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) organised a launch drive and exposure visit here on Saturday for the trainee officers who visited the city.
During their visit, the Heads of the Departments of VPA briefed them about the Port infrastructural facilities, cargo operations, existing projects, cargo achievement, prospective plan of VPA in achieving 90 MMT, said the port Secretary T. Venu Gopal in a release here.
They were taken on a guided launch drive within the port water limits to provide firsthand exposure to the port's Maritime Operations.
Senior officials of VPA briefed the officers on the port’s robust infrastructure, operational facilities, and strategic importance in supporting maritime trade and logistics.
The visit formed part of the broader objective to familiarise the newly inducted IAS officers with Major National Infrastructure Projects and operational frameworks critical to governance and economic development.
