Telangana BJP condemns Prakash Raj's remarks against CEC Gyanesh Kumar

Hyderabad, Oct 3 (UNI) Telangana BJP on Saturday condemned actor and political commentator Prakash Raj over his purported remarks against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging that the comments were disrespectful to a constitutional institution.
In a statement, BJP State Chief Spokesperson and Media In-charge N V Subash said Prakash Raj was entitled to criticise the Election Commission, but alleged that his purported reference to the “Nimmajan” of the CEC crossed the line from political criticism to disrespect for a constitutional office.
Subash said criticism of the Election Commission and demands for accountability were part of the democratic process, but alleged that personal remarks against the head of a constitutional body undermined serious debate.
