Kavitha backs employees’ stir, demands 51 pc PRC fitment, DA release

Hyderabad, Sep 15 (UNI) Telangana Rakshana Sena president K Kavitha on Tuesday alleged that government employees and teachers were facing severe hardships under the Revanth Reddy government and demanded immediate resolution of their pending issues.
Addressing a conference on employees’ and teachers’ issues at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram here, she demanded release of pending DA and 51 per cent fitment before the PRC term expires.
She alleged that DA had been withheld for 32 months and sought implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for teachers and police personnel recruited in 2003, claiming that extending OPS to teachers could save the government around Rs 2,000 crore.
Kavitha criticised the government over the 40 per cent vacancies in residential schools and degree colleges, shortage of permanent MEOs and diversion of teachers to non-academic duties. She also demanded promotions for teachers and strengthening of single-teacher schools.
She sought justice for employees affected by GO 317, many of whom were women, and immediate payment of pending salaries to outsourcing employees. She said around 206 employee unions were fighting under the JAC and that her party would extend moral support to their agitations.
Kavitha demanded resolution of the 37 demands raised by employees and said if the GO 317 issues were not settled by September 18, employee unions should consider a Hyderabad blockade. She said the Telangana Rakshana Sena, if voted to power, would treat employees as partners in development and strengthen public education and healthcare.
