TVK distances from ally Cong on seeking CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s ouster, terms it diversionary

Chennai, Sep 28 (UNI) Differences between the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TV) and its key ally, Congress, a constituent of the minority Vijay government, have surfaced yet again, with the former distancing itself from the demand for the arrest and prosecution of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar as well as his resignation over the ‘vote chori’ charge.
While the Congress has launched a nationwide campaign for the CEC’s resignation and criminal prosecution, the TVK is not amused. Rather, it has termed the demand for the CEC’s resignation as a ‘diversionary one’.
