Vijay launches expansion of free breakfast scheme for Class 6-8 school students in TN

Chennai, Sep 22 (UNI) In line with the announcement made in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Chief Minister Vijay on Tuesday launched the expansion of the rechristened Perunthalaivar Kamarajar free Breakfast Scheme for Classes 6 to 8 students studying at Government, and government-aided schools, at a function in the city.
After the TVK assumed office, the Chief Minister recently renamed the CM Breakfast scheme after Congress stalwart and former CM K.Kamaraj, who was the architect in introducing the noon meal scheme for students.
Vijay launched the scheme, which hitherto covered students of Class 1 to 5 and now extended to Class 6-8 students, at the Government Middle School in Gandhigramam in Tiruvanmiyur area of Chennai. Vijay personally served breakfast to the students, interacted with them and also sat along with them and par took the morning tiffin. During the interaction, he also enquired about the quality of the food and also visited several classrooms with them inthe bench and interacted with them.
