53 deaths in IITs in last 5 yrs, 62 pc of them are SC, ST, OBC students : Congress

Chennai, Sep 23 (UNI) Averring that a total of 53 deaths were reported in IITs across the country in the last five years, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) President and Lok Sabha MP B.Manickam Tagore on Wednesday said the most disturbing aspect of it
was 62 per cent of them are SC, ST, OBC students and wanted the government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi do come out openy on the issue without concealing any facts..
In a statement here, he said of the 53 deaths in the last five years, 48 have committed suicides.
