Vice-President CPR to visit TN tomorrow, security tightened, flying of drones, UAVs banned

Chennai, Sep 20 (UNI) Vice President C.P.Radhakrishnan will be on a day's visit to Tamil Nadu tomorrow.
During his visit, he will inaugurate the Centenary Conference of the UPASI Tea Research Foundation (UPASI TRF) at Coonoor in the hilly Nilgiris of Tamil Nadu on Monday evening.
Reports said Mr Radhakrishnan will reach Coimbatore airport from Delhi. After a brief reception, he will travel to Coonoor to participate in the UPASI event.
After the event, he would return to Coimbatore and leave for New Delhi.
Security has been tightened at Coimbatore and the Nilgirs district in view of the VIP's visit. Flying of drones and other UAVs were banned and the police has warned off stringent action if the order was violated.
The conference celebrates 100 years of continuous service by the Tea Scientific Department to the South Indian tea industry since its establishment in October 1926, according to United Planters' Association of Southern India (UPASI) President, Ajoy Thipaiah.
Following the inauguration, an international conference and plantation expo featuring scientists, policymakers, and industry leaders will be held on September 22–23. The technical deliberations will center around four expert pillars :Sustainable Tea--Pathways for the future, Climate-Smart Tea--Innovations for resilience; Smart Tea--AgTech for transformation and Frontiers of Tea--Scientific breakthroughs for the next century.
