Heavy rain likely in AP, Yanam on June 11: Met

Amaravati, June 7 (UNI) Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema on June 11, the Meteorological Centre said on Saturday.

In a daily weather report here, it said that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speed ranging from 40-50 kmph is likely to occur at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema during the next five days.

Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at many places or at a few places or at one or two places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema during the next seven days.

The Meteorological Centre also said that the trough from south Madhya Maharashtra to Coastal Andhra Pradesh across North Interior Karnataka and Telangana at 1.5 km above mean sea level has become less marked.

The upper air cyclonic circulation over North Interior Karnataka & neighbourhood at 3.1 km above mean sea level has become less marked.

Rainfall occurred at one or two places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours, the report added.
