Netherlands name squad for ICC CWC League 2 games

Amsterdam, Oct 15 (UNI) The KNCB has announced the squad that will travel to Dubai for the next round of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 (CWCL2), where the Netherlands will take on Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
The 50-over competition offers the prospect of participating in the World Cup, which will be played in three countries in southern Africa in November 2027.
The top four teams in CWCL2 will qualify for a Global Qualifier in 2027. The Netherlands are already assured of participation in that World Cup qualifying tournament.
USA have already clinched the League 2 title and lead the standings with 49 points from 36 matches. Scotland are second on 45 points from 36 matches.
The Netherlands are placed third, inside the top four, with 38 points from 32 matches. Oman are fourth with 33 points from 30 matches, level on points with fifth-placed Namibia, who have played 36 matches.
The UAE are eighth with 19 points from 32 matches.Netherlands' new men's national coach Ashley Noffke said, "We are looking forward to the tournament in the UAE, where we will be focusing on our style of play, our combinations and creating a great team dynamic that can continue to grow upon the solid platform that already exists, according to ICC.
"It will be a great tour to look at some of our young and up-and-coming talent, and give them an opportunity to showcase their skill at an international level.
"Netherlands squad: Colin Ackermann, Shariz Ahmad, Noah Croes, Cedric de Lange, Bas de Leede (captain), Daniel Doram, Aryan Dutt, Scott Edwards (wicketkeeper), Fred Klaassen, Kyle Klein, Michael Levitt, Zach Lion-Cachet, Max O'Dowd, Timm van der Gugten, Paul van Meekeren.
