Abhishek: India’s attacking approach here to stay

New Delhi, Sep 13 (UNI) India opener Abhishek Sharma on Sunday backed the team’s aggressive batting philosophy, saying one or two series would not define the side as a batting unit and stressed the importance of giving the team strong starts while chasing challenging totals.
Abhishek, who was adjudged Player of the Match after smashing a blistering 82 off 32 balls, said India had consciously adopted an attacking approach well before the World Cup and remained committed to it despite fluctuations in form.
“I still remember two years back we decided we wanted to play in a certain way. We wanted to dominate all the teams throughout the whole year before the World Cup and things went pretty well for the whole team, especially the batsmen,” he said after India chased down Afghanistan’s 156 for eight in just 13.4 overs.
