Gavaskar slams India's bowling plans after record-breaking West Indies chase

Ranchi, Oct 10 (UNI) Legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar has launched a sharp critique of India's bowling unit after the team failed to defend a mammoth 249 for five against the West Indies in the second T20 International at Ranchi, questioning whether the bowling coach's plans were effectively translated into on-field execution.
India's batting firepower, led by Sanju Samson's explosive 82, had put the hosts in a commanding position. However, the West Indies produced a stunning counterattack to chase down the 250-run target in just 18.3 overs, completing a seven-wicket victory in a match that yielded an extraordinary 501 runs.
Gavaskar made it clear that India's batsmen could not be faulted after delivering such a formidable total, directing attention instead towards the bowlers and the team's preparation.
