Kolhapur: Govt's decision to start sugarcane crushing season from Oct 15 will cause huge losses to farmers: Raju Shetty

Kolhapur, Sep 9 (UNI) Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana (SSS) national president and former MP Raju Shetty today criticised the government's decision to begin the sugarcane crushing season from October 15, saying it will cause huge losses to the farmers and the sugar industry.
Shetty demanded that the government announce compensation for the farmers if it decides to go ahead with early crushing, and threatened that otherwise his organisation will take to the streets in protest and not allow sugar factories to begin work.
