Pregnant Woman Allegedly Murdered, body burnt in Dhule; four held

Mumbai , Sep 27 (UNI) A pregnant woman was allegedly murdered and her body transported nearly 275 km before being burnt with petrol in a forest area in Maharashtra's Dhule district, police said on Sunday.
Four people, including a woman, have been arrested in connection with the case, while efforts are underway to trace two other suspects who are absconding, police said.
According to police, the woman was allegedly killed following an internal dispute. After the murder, the accused allegedly transported her body to the Gartadbari Ghat forest area, where they poured petrol on it and set it on fire, allegedly to destroy evidence and mislead investigators.
The Mohadinagar police reportedly cracked the case within three days after examining technical evidence and scanning more than 11 hours of CCTV footage. The footage helped investigators track the movements of the suspects and establish their route, police said.
The arrested accused are being interrogated to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the murder, the role of each suspect and the sequence in which the crime was allegedly committed.
Police have launched a search operation for the two absconding accused and are examining additional evidence gathered during the investigation.
The exact motive behind the killing and other details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
