Ensure no malpractices occur in girls' hostels of ashram schools, OBC Welfare Dept members to officials

Kolhapur, July 2 (UNI) The members of Other Backward Classes Welfare (OBCW) department today directed the concerned officials to take care that no malpractices occur in the girls' hostels in the ashram schools.
In a review meeting held at the district collector's office here, OBCW members, including Prof Machhindranath Tambe, Prof Govind Kale and Dr Maruti Shikare, also instructed officials to visit and inspect the girls' hostels in the ashram schools to ensure that the girls there are getting basic amenities.
They also directed officials to organise camps for distribution of the caste certificates and resolve the issue of caste certificates.
The members also said that if they face is any problem in the distribution of caste certificates or verification of caste certificates, the State Backward Classes Commission should be informed so that these problems can be resolved as soon as possible.

Mentally ill woman jumps into sea, saved by police in Mumbai

Mumbai, July 3 (UNI) A 53-year-old woman, said to be suffering from some mental disease, jumped into the sea at Bandra Bandstand in city suburb allegedly fearing that someone was chasing her. She was saved by a constable who was posted near the sea, said the police today.
