Maha Minister Bhuse calls for discipline, cultural values alongside quality education

Kolhapur, Oct 7 (UNI) Maharashtra School Education Minister Dadasaheb Bhuse on Wednesday called for a greater focus on discipline and cultural and moral values among students alongside providing quality education.
Interacting with students during the ‘Let’s Go to School’ campaign and visiting six schools in Sindhudurg district, Bhuse urged students to excel in their areas of interest, become self-reliant and grow into responsible citizens.
“Along with quality education, teachers, parents, alumni and society need to work together to inculcate discipline and moral values among students,” Bhuse said.
The minister also interacted with teachers and reviewed students’ achievements in academics and other fields, as well as various activities being conducted in schools.
He stressed the need to make effective use of available resources to improve the quality of education in rural schools.
During his visit to Kudal High School, Bhuse inspected classrooms and reviewed academic activities. He also emphasised the importance of self-defence training for students alongside formal education.
He said students were being provided self-defence training under the ‘Rani Lakshmibai Self-Defense Training’ initiative and urged schools to give priority to such programmes.
