Mumbai, May 28 (UNI) Petrol and diesel prices in Maharashtra have once again become a topic of discussion as new rates were announced on May 28, 2025.
Fuel prices, which are closely monitored by the public due to their direct impact on daily expenses, were declared at 6 AM and are now in effect across the state.
According to the latest data, petrol prices in most cities of Maharashtra remain above 104 per litre, while diesel prices are generally above 91 per litre. For example, petrol in Ahmednagar is 104.89 per litre and diesel is 91.40 per litre.
In Aurangabad, petrol is 105.18 and diesel is 91.68 per litre. Mumbai City continues to offer the lowest rates, with petrol at 103.50 and diesel at 90.03 per litre.
Several cities, including Hingoli, Jalna, Latur, Nanded, Parbhani, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and Yavatmal, have petrol prices at 105.50 per litre and diesel at 92.03 per litre. The changes in fuel prices are influenced by fluctuations in international crude oil rates, as well as local taxes, VAT, and transportation charges.
Over the month of May, diesel prices in Maharashtra have shown a slight upward trend, with the highest recorded rate being 92.12 per litre and the lowest at 90.03 per litre, reflecting a 2.27% rise for the month.
Despite the minor increases in some cities, the overall price movement remains relatively stable, and no major spike has been observed. Fuel rates are revised daily, and consumers are encouraged to check the latest prices before refuelling.
