Twenty Two year old Doctor dies in Amravati with overdose and Epilepsy both suspected

Mumbai, Sept 17 (UNI) A 22 year old trainee doctor who had recently completed his BAMS degree in Nashik was found dead under suspicious circumstances while asleep at a village in the Walgaon police station area of Amravati, with investigators yet to establish whether an alleged overdose of medicines taken for skin lightening or his long standing epilepsy was responsible for his death.
The deceased has been identified as Aditya Rawate. According to information available in the case, he had suffered from epilepsy since childhood. At the same time, he had reportedly been taking certain medicines as part of self treatment aimed at making his complexion lighter.
This has led to a suspicion that excessive consumption of the medicines may have contributed to his death. However, there is no confirmation so far that an overdose was the cause.
Aditya was reportedly found lying face down in his room. Blood was seen coming from his eyes, prompting further examination into the circumstances of his death.
Doctors who conducted the preliminary postmortem reportedly identified respiratory failure and a heart attack as possible causes of death. The findings, however, have not established the underlying reason for either condition or conclusively linked the death to the medicines.
The exact circumstances therefore remain unclear. Authorities are expected to rely on the viscera examination and the detailed postmortem report to determine whether the death was connected to the medicines reportedly taken by Aditya for skin lightening, his epilepsy, or another medical cause.
The death has raised questions about the risks associated with self medication, but the available findings do not yet establish that the medicines caused the fatality. The final cause of death will be known only after the pending forensic and postmortem examinations are completed.
