BJP leader mocks Uddhav Thackeray’s Dussehra rally, calls it a ‘Comedy Show’

Mumbai, Oct 21 (UNI) BJP Maharashtra state chief spokesperson Navnath Ban on Wednesday criticised Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and party leader Sanjay Raut over their Dussehra rally, alleging that an event once known for its ideological speeches had turned into a “comedy show”.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP state office, Ban said Raut’s prediction of a change in government in April was unrealistic and accused him of misleading party workers and the public.
Rejecting Raut’s allegations of political killings, Ban said India functioned under the Constitution and democratic principles, adding that voters had the authority to decide the political future of parties through elections.
He said Maharashtra was safe under Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and criticised the Shiv Sena (UBT) leadership for what he described as a lack of serious political discourse.
Ban also accused the opposition of opposing major development projects, including refineries in the Konkan region and data centres, while simultaneously complaining about a lack of employment opportunities and industries moving to other states.
He said the opposition should highlight specific shortcomings in projects and bring them to the government's attention rather than oppose development initiatives outright.
