Jarange Patil could be stopped outside Mumbai

Mumbai, Sep 15 (UNI) Maratha reservation agitator Manoj Jarange Patil, who is already on his way to Mumbai city, is likely to be stopped by police from entering Mumbai until the Ganeshotsav festival is over, sources said on Tuesday.
Earlier on Tuesday, Manoj Jarange Patil left for Mumbai alone at around 11 am.
However, hundreds of police officers have accompanied Jarange Patil.
This detachment includes three sub-divisional police officers, 10 police inspectors, 30 police sub-inspectors and 200 auxiliary police officers, sources said.
Additionally, several sub-inspectors, around 490 police personnel, home guards, 90 police personnel of the Maharashtra State Reserve Force and police personnel of the traffic branch have been deployed to ensure that there is no agitation, road blockade or any untoward incident during Jarange Patil’s journey towards Mumbai, from those who are opposed to his agitation, sources said.
Sources also said that Jarange Patil is likely to approach the Bombay High Court seeking permission to protest at Azad Maidan, if the police turns down his plea to allow him to protest, official sources said here on Tuesday.
Sources said that the Azad Maidan police is likely to turn down Jarange Patil’s plea to protest once again.
The police already denied permission to Jarange Patil to protest on Sunday, citing a law and order challenge during the ongoing Ganeshotsav.
Meanwhile, Manoj Jarange Patil’s supporters have demanded that the Mumbai Police should grant permission for his fast.
The Maratha supporters have warned that permission should not be denied for Manoj Jarange Patil to protest in Mumbai, in the name of celebrating Ganoeshotsav. They said that even if permission is not given, they will go to Mumbai and protest.
