Prithviraj Chavan alleges ‘political conspiracy’ behind Rs 500-crore audio clip, seeks probe

Mumbai, Oct 24 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, on Saturday, made a sensational claim, alleging that the purported Rs 500-crore audio clip involving Maratha quota agitation leader Manoj Jarange Patil is a "devious conspiracy" hatched by the ruling establishment to simultaneously finish the political leadership of Jarange Patil and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Chavan alleged that the controversial audio clip was part of a calculated move to "kill two birds with one stone."
"If one analyses the leaked audio clip carefully, a massive political game plan comes to light. On one hand, it is an attempt to tarnish the image of Manoj Jarange Patil and isolate him from the Maratha community. On the other, by dragging the name of MP Dr Shrikant Shinde into the matter, it aims to clip the political wings of Deputy CM Eknath Shinde," Chavan said.
